This paper surveyed the development andrecent advances in minimally invasive neurosurgery(MIN), which is the combinant application and re-alization of the contemporary high technology in thefield of neurosurgical practice. MIN is a new conceptdeveloped in the recent years, comprising neuroen-doscopy, endovascular neurosurgery, stereotacticneurosurgery, radioneurosurgery, and image guidedneurosurgery or neuronavigation. By using thesetechniques either alone or in combination, it makespossibility to treat some neurological diseases withminimal injury to the brain, spinal cord, and verte-bral column.
