Since Song dynasty the over delicate taste and decadence of culture leads to male's masculine deterioration. Especially with the back up by the theaters during Yuan and Qing dynasties, the fragile male scholar in those works becomes the typical character . However, Likui in Shui Hu, is on the opposite, he is full of strength, warlike and brave. Therefore, Likui as the character appears in Qing literature is the subversion to the previous aesthetics to the frail male and through whom the mascu- line side of males becomes vivid again. However, this subversion is only the aesthetic Utopia other than in real life.
