Network security is an important issue which constraints network development. It is a bottleneck in the IT application construction of scientific research institutes. This paper analyses security risks which exist in the scientific research institutes LAN. The Omni-directional and three-dimensional network security solutions are proposed on the basis of setting up and improving the safety management system ,the deployment of safety equipment and the application of security technology.
