Verbal humor, which can bring laughter and amusement to people in jocular and satiric forms, is an important form in creative communication of human-being and plays such irreplaceable roles in human life. In terms of the functions of verbal humor, this thesis mainly discusses communicative effects produced by verbal humor, aiming to promote people＇s deeper understanding and application to verbal humor and create a good atmosphere for human communication and enrich it comic colors.
