A Positive Discourse Analysis on Political Speeches

本文应用评价理论,以美国总统和政治家的七篇竞选演讲为主要材料,对竞选演讲语篇中的态度资源进行了分析。通过分析,笔者总结出了总统大选演讲语篇的四个积极作用,旨在说明积极话语分析可以弥补批评话语分析研究内容的不足。

This paper is based on the Appraisal Theories. Choosing seven speeches delivered by the presidents and statemen the general election as material, the author makes an analysis on the resources of Attitude used in the speech in the general election and concludes four positive functions of political speeches in the general election. The author points out that PDA can make up for the drawbacks of the contents of CDA.
