Alzheimer′s disease (AD) is one of the neurodegenerative disorders associated with progressive dementia The neuropathological features usually showed the presence of intracellular neurofibrillary tangles and extracellular neuritic plaues within the brain Neurochemical and molecular neurobiological studies demonstrated that the formations of the pathological changes might be related to some disturbances of amyloid β proteins, microtuble associated protein tau as well as expression of the mutated genes, though the early diagnosis of AD seems still difficult to date This paper summarized here some new advances on putative markers, such as β amyliod protein, tau protein, apolipoprotein E genotypes, protease activities, neurotransmitters and their metabolites, lipids and other biochemical markers in diagnosis of AD
