传统小说评点发展到晚清时期,借附新兴刊物繁盛一时,在价值取向、评点主体、评者与著者关系等方面呈现出诸多新变的时代特征。同时,偏重社会功用的评点倾向,也受到了不少评者的反驳、修正,并在后期逐渐回归文学本位。随着现代文论的兴起,小说评点的现代转型已成必然,但其实现过程又遵循逻辑性和渐进性原则。
