摘要
美国比较文学学者与汉学家苏源熙将以余宝琳为代表的汉学家有关"中国讽寓"辞格的研究概括为文化相对主义诗学,而汉学家对此的回应则再次强调了中国文学术语自身的特殊性。双方都指责对方犯了欧洲中心主义的错误,论争焦点实则在于中西比较赖以进行的基础———比较双方的共性并非是现成的,而是逐渐在比较中显现出来的。对于比较而言,共性与个性缺一不可。而文化相对主义对于"异"的过度夸大将导致无效的比较。
American comparatist and sinologist Haun Saussy sumarizied the study of "Chinese Allegory" by Pautin Yu and other sinologists as cultural relativism poetics, and the response from a sinologist stressed again the importance of the terminology's specificity in Chinese literature. Both sides accused each other of committing the error of Eurocentrism, but the real focus of the debate is the basis, on which the comparison between West and China is possible- the similarity of the two sides is not readily availabl, but only gradually emerges in the process of the comparison. For comparison, the common and individual characteristics are indispensable. Overstated "differences" by cultural relativism will lead to invalid comparisons.
