How to Tackle Truancy in Colleges and Universities

大学生逃课是大学校园内外众人皆知的现象,应解决的问题是大学生逃什么课?为什么逃课?如何解决?教育教学改革是解决学生逃课问题的关键所在。首先是提高教师素质,提高教师的授课水平;其次是要实现从计划学分制逐渐转向完全学分制,增加选修课的范围;再次是要引进竞争机制,改变教师聘用制度中重科研轻教学的局面。

Students playing truant has become a commonplace phenomenon in colleges and universities. Questions that should be asked include ＂What classes do they choose to miss？＂＂Why？＂ and ＂How to solve the problem？＂ The key to the truancy problem is educational reform： better teacher quality and better teaching, gradual shift from planned credit system to complete credit system and more elective courses, and then, introduction of competition mechanism and improvement of the stress- research- ignore - teaching situation in the teacher recruitment system.
