略论我国航天器名字的英译

On the Translation of Chinese Spacecraft Names into English

指出了我国航天器名的英译用汉语拼音的不足;建议我国航天器的英译名以意译为主,音译为辅;提出了航天器名意译的原则和我国全部航天器按意译的英语名建议。

The paper points out the defects of the transliteration of the Chinese spacecraft names into English with the Chinese phonetic,recommends that the English name of the Chinese spacecraft be primarily free-translated with transliteration as secondary,proposes the principles of the free translation,and finally gives the English names of all the Chinese spacecrafts based on the free translation.
