环境思潮是从实用主义思潮到价值主义思潮再到生态中心主义思潮这一进程的发展过程。人类对于自然环境的认识和态度从肯定人类的价值高于自然价值的人类中心主义,到承认自然的内在价值、强调人与自然价值平等的自然价值主义,再到充分肯定自然界地位的人类中心主义的转变和发展过程。在这个过程中,自然环境从纯粹地被利用的客体向具有独立法律地位的主体转化。这些变化显示出了环境保护在当前的重要意义,也证实了环境研究不断繁荣的必然性。

Environment thoughts evolve from pragmatism to value-centrism, and to Eco-centrism. During this course, the cognition and the attitude of human form in defiance of environment value to accept the inhesion value of environment, and to emphasize the equality of human＇s value and environment＇s value, then to confirm the independent value of environment. In this process, natural environment is transferred from the object which is purely utilized to the subject who possesses independent legal status. These changes present the important significance of environment protect currently, and prove inevitability of continual prosperity of environmental research as well.
