Many researchers in the area of adult guardianship attached great importance to the health care decision-making system of the alternatives for adult guardianship system in US has some advantages, such as simple procedures, time-saving, low cost, respecting the right of self-determination, minimum restriction, being consistent with the international standard of human rights protection and delaying or preventing the establishment of the adult guardianship. It is urgent and important to build the health care decision-making system in China in order to deal with the increasing demand for adult guardianship.
