Comparison on China—Japan Competition in ASEAN Market

中国和日本都是东盟的近邻，两国无论在地理、历史、文化，还是在政治、经济等方面都和东盟各国有十分密切的联系。近年来，在东盟各国大力发展经济，以及一体化进程不断加快等因素推动下，东盟各国经济得到了高速发展。2004～2007年，东盟10国平均GDP增长率分别高达6．3％、5．7％、6．0％和6．7％。

This paper presents an overview of competition between China and Japan in the emerging ASEAN market. The analysis reveals that the two countries have different structures of export to and import from ASEAN market and different co-operation modes. With the speeding up of the building of China-ASEAN FFA, the amount and speed of China＇s export to and import from ASEAN are getting more and more rapidly, and thus bilateral trade with ASEAN gains more and more share in China＇s foreign trade. As a whole, China has been overtaking Japan as to the market shares and has more and more impact on ASEAN.
