托马斯·卢瑟尔是世界著名的美国家具艺术家。他的作品被广泛收藏于美国国家设计博物馆,波士顿和休斯敦美术博物馆,仁维克美术馆,耶鲁大学美术馆,密尔沃基艺术博物馆等博物馆和研究机构。从1981年以来,他设计并制作家具艺术品并参与了200多个美国和国际展览。从1991年以来,他开始担任维斯康星大学家具系主任,现任该校艺术学系(院)院长。文章简要介绍了托马斯·卢瑟尔的生平,作品并讨论了他是如何能在设计创作和教学中保持创造性。

Tom Loeser is an internationally renowned American furniture artist whose work had been collected widely by museums and universities including The Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, the Museums of Fine Arts in Boston and Houston, The Renwick Gallery, The Yale University Art Gallery, The Milwaukee Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Museum. He designs and builds one-of-a-kind fimctional objects and had participated over 200 national and international exhibitions since 1981. He worked as head of the wood/furniture program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison since 1991. Currently, he also works as the chair of The Art Department. This article gives a brief introduction of Tom Loeser, his works and discussed how he could sustain his creativity as an artist, designer and educator.
