Israelite Religion as Described in the Hebrew Bible

Based on the textual evidence from within the Hebrew Bible and some archaeological evidence,the article discusses some aspects of the Israelite religion. Topics such as the local religions among the Israelites,the locality,jealousy,vengeance,and human characteristics of the Israelite God,and the structure of the Israelite pantheon are covered. The worship of the dead and idols(teraphim) ,the differences and conflicts between the family religion and state religion,as well as the implications of the Deuteronomistic Reform to the Israelite religion and later Judaism and Christianity are among the issues touched upon by this article.
