摘要
Few words have as unpleasant a connotation as "sludge," but if Tang Jun, the former president of Microsoft China, is to be believed, "sludge" -- the waste product from sewage treatment -- could soon become an investor darling. The Chinese government has spent the last few years building hundreds of sewage factories all over the country in an attempt to resolve China's wastewater problems. However, sludge has been wholly neglected, leaving room for private capital to fill in the gap. Tang, who recently founded sludge processor Great Research and Industrialization (格瑞特泥科学与应用技术研究院), is just one of many such investors looking away from the more glamorous fields towards the muck and mire of sewage treatment.
