屈伯川先生从事党的高等教育事业长达半个多世纪,在大连工学院(现大连理工大学)领导岗位上工作30余年,对学校建设与发展的许多方面作出了历史性、奠基性贡献。在教育服务于国家经济建设、发展国际学术交流、建设师资队伍、建设教学和科学研究两个中心等方面为学校发展作出了突出贡献。在高等教育多样化、重点大学建设等方面为中国高等教育发展作出了历史性的贡献。屈伯川高等教育思想具有实践性、开放性、系统性和创造性的特点,对于推进院校研究、完善大学校长素质结构与选拔机制、凝练高等教育管理问题、形成中国特色的高等教育理论依然具有启发意义。

Doctor QU Bo-chuan had been engaged in China＇s higher education for more than half a century, and in the leadership post of Dalian Institute of Technology （ Dalian University of Technology now） for more than 30 years. He made many historic and groundbreaking contributions in many aspects of the institute＇s constructions and development. He had made outstanding contribution in the development of international academic exchanges, the faculty building, establishing the concept that teaching and research are the two centers in higher education, integrating teaching with research and production together, providing education services in the national economic construction, and combining science with technology in the construction of Dalian university of Technology, etc. From the ideal and practical aspects, he had made historic contributions to the development of higher education in China, such as focusing on areas such as the diversification of higher education and building the national key universities. There＇re practical, open, systematic and creative characteristics in QU Bo-chuan＇s thoughts of high education, which is still instructive today.
