Abstract Aptesis grandis Sheng, sp.nov.(Figs.1-3) This new species is similar to Aptesis opaca (Cushman) 1937,but can be distinguished from the latter by: areola area of propodeum distinct; second abdominal tergite nearly as long as the third; male not more shining than female; color marks different. Holotype ♀, Shanxi Province: Qinyuan County (36°10′N,111°30′E),1 200 m, June 20, 1995. Chen Guofa. Allotype , paratypes: 1♀ 2, June 13, 1994.Sheng Malling; 10♀♀, 37, June 14￣20, 1995, Chen Guofa and Zhang Qinghe. Other data as holotype. Host: Diprion jingyuanensis Xiao et Zhang. All type specimens are deposited in the General Station of Forest Pest Management, Ministry of Forestry.
