A General Introduction to Education of Hui Ethnic Group in Xinjiang

新中国建立前回族教育经历了以经堂教育为主逐渐向新式学校教育为主模式的发展阶段。新中国成立后,新疆回族教育经过了恢复发展、艰难发展、全面破坏、迅速发展四个阶段。改革开放以来,回族教育各项指标显著地提高。关注新疆回族基础教育发展,提高高等教育的教、学、研产业化水平,大力发展新疆回族职业教育和成人教育,降低文盲率,是今后发展的重点。

Before liberation, education of Hui ethnic group experienced from religious education to school education. After the establishment of the People＇s Republic of China, the education of Hui ethnic group experienced 4 phases： restoration, hard times, complete demolishment and rapid development. Since the reforming and opening movement, education of Hui ethnic group in Xinjiang has been promoted, in all aspects. Concerning fundamental education and promoting higher education, developing vocational education and adult education reducing illiteracy should be the developing focus in the future.
