Accompanied by modernization of China, sports modernization is going to be a theme of social development in current China. Modernization is a dynamic process with stage characteristics. Granted by China State Council, the economic and social reform of Zhujiang Delta has been promoted to be national development strategy. It is significant for Zhujiang Delta to achieve the goal of realizing an well - off society by 2012 and take the lead in accomplishing basic modernization by 2020. The study of Zhujiang Delta sports modernization has become an important hot issue that theorists and practitioners are exploring. This paper discusses the time significance of sports modernization of Zhujiang Delta.
