The Development from FuZhong Coal Mining School a Preparatory School to a Specialist School

在河南理工大学建校100周年的历史上,1915年福中矿务学校的成立至1919年易名为福中矿务专门学校是该校发展史上重要的转折阶段。它由原来由英国福公司独资兴办转变为由英国福公司和河南中原公司合资兴办;该校的办学地点由河南省会开封转到了靠近矿区和道(口)清(化)铁路局的焦作;学校层次由预科提升为正科;发展规模不断扩大,为升格为中国第一所矿务大学打下了坚实的基础。这一时期培养了一批优秀的人才,其中一些在中国近现代史上成为叱咤风云的人物。

Within a history of nearly 100 years, the years from the foundation of FuZhong Coal Mining School in 1915 to its name changing into FuZhong Coal Mining Specialist School in 1919 was a turning point for Henan Polytechnic University in the course of its development. The former was established by the British Syndicate Co. Ltd., the latter was set up by the joint venture of the British Syndicate Co. Ltd. and the Henan Central Plains Company, its location was moved from Kaifeng the capital city of Henan Province to Jiaozuo, a city close to a mining area and the Daokou- Qinghua railroad. The school level was lifted from a preparatory school to a specialist school. Meanwhile, a group of talents grew up, some of them became the principal figures in Modern Chinese history.
