Equality in Politics China＇s Constitution stipulates that men and women have equal political rights. Women accounted for 12 percent of the deputies to the First National People＇s Congress （NPC）, held in 1954. In 2008, when the 1 lth NPC was convened, women accounted for 21.33 percent of the deputies. The percentage of women members of the National Committee of the Chinese People＇s Political Consultative Conference （CPPCC） increased from 6.06 percent, in 1949, to 17.7 percent in 2008. Of the total civil servants, in 2008, more than 40 percent were women.
男女平等参与政治生活我国《宪法》规定，男女享有平等的政治权利。全国人大女代表占代表总数比例从1954年12％提高到2008年的21．33％；全国政协女委员占委员总数比例由1949年6．06％上升到2008年的17.7％；2008年全国女公务员占总数40％以上。
