Ways to Produce the Effect of Politeness in Conversation and Pragmatic Analysis

礼貌得体的语言是社会交往的润滑剂,是语言能力的一种表现。本文运用礼貌原则和间接言语行为理论,分析了在不同情境中(如拒绝、抱怨和请求)的礼貌策略以及实现这些礼貌得体效果的语言手段,如模糊语言、答非所问和过去时的距离感而产生的间接性等,为礼貌行为研究提供了一个新的视角。

Polite language is a very important aspect of language competence, which can smooth the social communication. This paper draws on the principle of politeness and the theory of indirect speech act before giving an analysis of polite strategies in different situations such as refusal, complaint and request, as well as the ways to produce the effect of politeness, such as fuzzy words, not- to the- question answer and the past tense of verbs which has the effect of distance and indirectness, thus giving a new perspective to the study of politeness.
