The Formation of National Identity in Ancient Olympics——Conflict and Convergence between Pan-hellenism and Partikularismus

竞技在古希腊社会已经成为区分"希腊人"与"蛮族人"的重要维度。这一基于竞技运动所产生的民族认同,我们可以从古奥运会中窥得概貌。在泛希腊主义的推动下,古奥运会成为唤起和培育民族精神的有力载体,担负着实现希腊人民族认同的历史使命。尽管各别主义在古奥运会民族认同的形成过程中设置了重重障碍,但这些障碍却始终无法阻挠民族认同形成的大势。

Competition is the important standard of identifying Greek and Barbarian in the ancient Greek society. The national identity originated in competitive sports is reflected in Ancient Olympics. Pan-hellenism proposed Ancient Olympics to be a finn cartier for cultivating national spirit and a historical mission to fulfill national identity of Greeks. The national identity trend will not be barred by Partikularismus which formed in the ancient Olympics.
