Objective : To investigate the probable effects of lead exposure during pregnancy on auditory development in infants. Methods: One hundred infants were selected and their mother's blood Pb levels in pregnant in second trimester were determined in 2006 - 2007, and Pb levels were determined as a marker to reflect lead expo-sure. BAEP was recorded in infants at 6 months of age as effective indicators to study effects of lead on their auditory development. Results: (1)The rate of dysaeousis in infants was 9.4% in the very low - level group , 14.6% in the low - level group and 20.0% in the high - level group respectively. (2)As the blood lead level of the pregnant increased, the rate of dysacousis in infants increased, even if is the low horizontal lead exposition group. Conclusions: As for the toxicity of lead to the fetus, there is no a threshold. Low level lead exposure of the pregnant woman is one of the causes of dys acousis in infants.
