新中国应对境外意识形态挑战的经验是:(1)独立自信,在探索社会主义建设道路的过程中坚定自己意识形态目标不动摇的同时,注重应对境外意识形态挑战的灵活性;改革开放后转变为独立开放,中国特色社会主义理论成为应对境外意识形态挑战的"新式武器"。(2)以我为主,在探索社会主义建设道路过程中坚决维护自己国家利益的同时,注重应对境外意识形态挑战的主动性;改革开放后转变成以经济建设为中心,着力提高综合国力,使应对境外意识形态挑战具有坚实的物质基础。(3)团结多数,在探索社会主义建设道路过程中注重应对境外意识形态挑战的针对性;改革开放后转变为发展市场经济,着力打造中国特色市场体系,以超越意识形态的方式来应对境外意识形态的挑战。

New China's basic experience in responding to ideological challenges from abroad can be summarized as follows:First,we always remained independent and self - confident and attached great importance to the flexibility in responding to ideological challenges from abroad while unswervingly persevering in our ideological objectives in the course of exploring the path of socialist construction. Following the initiation of reform and opening up we have pursued the policy of independent opening to the outside world and the theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics has become a'new type of weapon'in responding to ideological challenges from abroad.Second,we took ourselves as the dominant factor and attached great importance to the initiative in responding to ideological challenges from abroad while resolutely safeguarding the national interests in the course of exploring the path of socialist construction.Following the initiation of reform and opening up we have taken economic development as the central task and worked hard to enhance the overall national strength in order to have a solid material base for responding to ideological challenges from abroad.Third,we took care to unite with the great majority and attach great importance to the right targets in responding to ideological challenges from abroad in the course of exploring the path of socialist construction.Following the initiation of reform and opening up we shifted our focus on developing a market economy and have worked hard to build up the market system with Chinese characteristics.We are now responding to ideological challenges from abroad by transcending the ideology.
