On Cultural Advancement and Development in New China

文化是我国社会主义革命、建设和改革开放事业中的重要方面。在新中国历史的不同时期,文化建设的轨迹和文化发展的脉络有所不同,但文化在其中发挥着推动社会进步,解放思想,引领时代风尚的重要作用则是共同的,回顾考察新中国60年来国家的文化政策以及文化自身发展的过程足以说明这一点。

Culture is an important aspect of socialist revolution and construction and the cause of reform in New China. The cultural advancement and development has different trajectories and traits in the different historical stages, but culture always plays a role of promoting social progress, emancipating people＇ s minds, mobilizing the masses and guiding social ethos of the times. With the three periods of the 1950s, the years from the late 1970s to the early 1980s and the turn of the century as the background of the times, this article gives a specific description of how culture presents in one aspect the historical scene of New China marching forward while singing in the past sixty years.
