"渔捕文化"是前工业时代的以膂力和魄力为轴心的渔业生产所形成的文化,它包括了生产方式、生产组织形式、生活方式以及由此而形成的民众语言、意识、心理、性格、禁忌、神话、崇拜、民间艺术等。胶东东部的文登、荣成、威海沿海区域,因其独特的地理环境、以生产方式为根基,形成了胶东东部区域的文化精神——"渔捕文化",体现了独特的民众性格、民众意识、民俗风情、语言体系等。
