The purpose of this paper is to prove the strong convergence of an implicit iteration process for a finite family of asymptotically non - expansive mappings in the intermediate sense to its common fixed point in a more general sense. Hence the paper affirmatively answers the question raised by Professor Xu and Professor Ori in 2001.
