The Art of Satire in Zhang Tianyi＇ s novels has always been a hot topic in the academic world. Zhang s early works called forth a lot of criticism on account of the style of cunning and deficiency of innermost description, while his continual attempts and pursuits in writing gradually take his satire to maturity. Thus, the academic community has positively accepted and confirmed the virtue of his painstaking attention to the description of objective details and fragments in his works, summarized a variety of rhetorical devices employed in his writings, and made a further study on the true meaning of his satire from a fresh new literary theory perspective and comparative study perspective, and also investigated, by all kinds of means, the association of Zhang＇ s art of satire with both Chinese and foreign literature background.
