西风东渐是传统本帮裁缝转型为红帮裁缝的根本原因,具体归结为以下几个方面:一是洋务运动、戊戌变法过程中,先驱者对西方服饰的倡导;二是辛亥革命推翻封建帝制,为西方服饰文化在中国的传播树立了里程碑;三是新文化运动解放思想,促使西方服饰观念的进一步在国人心中确立。

The growing popularity and worship of everything western is the basic cause for the transition of traditional native tailors to Hong Band Tailors, which can be concluded into following aspects. First, in the process of the Westernization Movement and the Reform Movement of 1898, the outrunners advocated the western costume. Secondly, the overthrow of feudal dynasty by the Revolution of 1911 marked a milestone for the spreading of western costume culture in China. Thirdly, the New Culture Movement emancipated the mind, which caused the further establishment of western costume concept in the minds of Chinese.
