Grounding requirements and easy making mistakes for high-precision ultraviolet radiometer （UVMFR-7） were totally discussed in the paper. The field test and solution for communication failure in the laboratory demonstrated the importance of the accurate grounding for the ultraviolet radiometer. It is proposed that accurate grounding connection is important not only for the sake of measurement precision of meteorological instrument,but also for the safety of the instrument and the researcher. The European standard of power plug and socket and international small differences have an important impact on grounding, which possesses guiding role to proper installation and the use of apparatus.
