1963年白先勇飘洋过海赴美求学,异域生活经验形成了白先勇跨国界、跨族裔、跨文化的飞散视角。他的小说创作在思想内容、艺术形式方面发生了重要的转型,其创作的"纽约客"系列对生活在异国他乡的华人的精神世界进行了探寻,对他们精神家园的迷失、民族身份的丧失表达了深刻的反思和忧虑。
In 1963,Bai Xian-yong went to the United States for study.The overseas living experience formed Bai Xian-yong s transnational,trans-race,and trans-culture dispersal vision.So important transformation occurs in his novel creation with regard to ideological contents and art styles.The "New Yorker" series created by him make an exploration of the spiritual world of the Chinese people living abroad as well as deep introspection of the frustration of their spiritual home,losing and dilution of national identification.
