The medical assistance system aims to improve the justification and accessibility of medical service for the poor. Community-based medical assistance is the best way to achieve this goal. By present situational analysis of medical assistance in China, the advantage of the community--based medical assistance is described and some suggestions on its sustainable development are proposed.
