On Background Knowledge Lead-in in English Listening Teaching

英语听、说、读、写四项基本语言技能中,听位居首位。听力教学对整个英语教学有重要影响。背景知识的导入以认知心理语言学中的图式理论为依据,有助于听者克服心理焦虑,增强对材料的预测能力,消除对材料理解的歧义,培养跨文化交际能力,关系到英语听力教学的成败。背景知识导入可贯穿到课前、课中、课后整个教学过程中。

Among the four basic English skills, listening ranks the first. Listening plays an important role in the whole English teaching and learning. The introduction of background information is based on the important cognitive psychological and linguistic theory： the schema theory. It can solve the listeners＂ anxiety, improve their predicting abilities, eliminate the ambiguity in understanding and develop their cross-culture abilities. It determines whether listening teaching can make a success. The introduction to background information can be conducted before class, during class and after class.
