Objectives:To study on the expression patterns of oncogene C erbB 2 and suppressor gene P16 in ovarian neoplasms,to compare these patterms with clinicopathological features and to assess their prognostic value. Methods:Using ABC immunohistochemical method, the authors investigated the expressions of C erbB 2 and P16 genes in paraffin embeded 49 sampla of malignant ovarian neoplasms,12 samples of borderline ovarian neoplasms and 15 sampla of benign ovarian neoplasms.Results:①The expression of C erbB 2 among the malignant, borderline and benign ovarian neoplasms was significant difference( P <0.01).The expressive rate and espressive intensity of C erbB 2 were associated with differentiation of neoplasm tissues and survival stage of patients( P >0.05).The high expression of C erbB 2 was found in those neoplasms which were more malignant and poorer differentiated and shorter survival stage of patients.②The expressions among the maligant, borderline and benign ovarian neoplasms were significant difference( P <0.01).The expressive rate and expressive intensity of P16 were associatecl with differentiation of neoplasms tissue and clinical stage. The expression of P16 was lower in poorer differentiated and later stage neoplasms. Conclusions:Oncogene C erbB 2 and suppressor gene P16 widely exist in tissues of ovarian neoplasms and is associated with clinicopathological features. They may play an important role in the development and progression of ovarian neoplasms.
