在甲午战争中,清军战地医院极少,医护人员非常缺乏,没有系统完备的战地救护系统,战地救护困难重重。部分在华西方人士在战地组建起红十字医院,协助中国人救治伤兵,大大地缓解了清军的救护压力。在沪西方人号召为红十字医院募捐,支持救治中国伤员。甲午战争中的战地救护,产生了广泛而深远的社会影响。

In the Sino-Japan War, there were hardly any battlefield hospitals, and doctors and nurses could hardly meet the urgent needs on the battlefield and there was no complete battlefield rescuing-system. The battlefield rescuing was very difficult. Some western people set up the Red Cross hospitals to relieve the difficult medical conditions by rescuing wounded soldiers. The western people living in Shanghai called on to raise money for the Red Cross hospitals. These funds were used to rescue wounded soldiers. The battlefield rescuing in the Sino-Japan has brought about important social consequences.
