作为大众文化产品的电影,其文本的主题、情节、人物角色和意义在相应的语境中才能得到理解,其文化意义才能得到阐释。电影文本的文化语境和情景语境给电影的文化阐释和跨文化解读提供了独特的视角和基本要素。此外,电影中富含的多种符号,它们的意义在传播过程中也会在所在的社会文化环境产生不同的外延。本文运用上述理论对美国电影《衣橱里的魔鬼》进行了跨文化的分析和解读。

As a mass cultural product, the theme, the plot and the i＇oles of the film could be understood and their cultural implication interpreted only when they are put into their proper contexts. The cultural and situational contexts of the film text provide a unique perspective and necessary elements for the cultural and intercultural interpretation of the film. Films are texts rich in signs. The meanings of signs lie in the process in which meanings are generated and developed in their social and cultural contexts. This essay intends to use the above theories to decode and interpret the cultural messages in the American film ＂Monster in the Closet＂ .
