One of the most attractive feature of the XXII World Congress of Philosophy may be its goal to ＂provide an opportunity to add the wisdom of the East and thus to make the world congress true to the name. ＂ It stressed that globalizatian lies in the acknowledgment of each culture in this planet and laid particular emphasis on the significance and value of the spirit of tolerance and harmony inherent in ＂the Sinographic Cultural Sphere＂ to the improvement of the human situation. The congress also reiterated the idea that philosophical thinking came before the discipline of philosophy, thus philosophical study should be focused on the improvement of human situation. In this sense, this congress, in the encounter of East and West, displayed a strong Eastern color and the theoretical trend in world philosophy.
