Twenty young sika deer(Cervus nippon)were assigned randomly into five groups, each group had five deer, and the single-factor experimental design was used to study the effects of different levels of zinc on feed digestibility and blood biochemical parameter. This experiment involved 5 dietary treatments, consisting of one control group fed basal diet and four levels of zinc which was 5mg/kg,15mg/kg, 40mg/kg,100mg/kg.The experimental period lasted 90 days. The results showed that:(1) The effects of different levels of zinc on the per-formance of the entire digestive tract digestibility of dry matter, crude protein, crude fat, neutral detergent fiber, calcium and phosphorus were higher than the group fed with basal diet, and that on neutral detergent fiber was significant differences(P 〈 0.05).(2) The effects of different levels of zinc on the serum zinc and alkaline phosphatase activity was extremely significant(P 〈0.01).(3) Different levels of zinc added into the feed of young deercould affect the activities of serum alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase and creatine phosphate, but these were not significant(P 〉0.05).The effects of different levels of zinc on total protein, albumin and globulin in serum were not significant(P 〉0.05).All of the variety of physiological and biochemical parameters analyzed in each group indicated that the optimal supplementation of zinc was 15mg/kg by the dry matter in this experiment
