Benjamin Jowett is one of the most famous tutors in the nineteenth eentury＇s Oxford University. He had been engaged in the university teaching for years and always had the courage to innovate. Jowett has been considered as ＂model of Oxford University tutors＂. The tradition of tutorial teaching formed when he was working in the college and his thinking about the tutorial system has a far-reaching influence on the tutorial system in Oxford University. At the same time, it also can provide useful enlightenment for our undergraduate teaching reform today.
