The Scholar Gardens represent ancient scholars＇ material utterances and imagination of their life with poetry, conditions of life, and artistic feelings. This paper attempts an analysis from the four aspects, the definition of the Scholar Gardens, their essence, the construction of the Scholar Gardens and the artistic feelings of the Scholar Gardens. With prudent reflections, the paper explores the essence, the aesthetics culture, value orientation and artistic spirit of the Scholar Gardens for a better service of the present art of gardens.
