杨慎终生流放云南,谪戍永昌卫(今保山)。因云南沐氏几代人的照看,实际上并未去边境服役,而是长期住在昆明附近的安宁读书写作,这就是他著述弘富的原因之一。本文据有关文献揭示了杨慎与沐家几代人的亲密交往和深厚友谊。同时据明代刑法和户口制度,说明他至死不得返乡的原因。

Though being banished to Yunnan,Yang Shen did not be sent to the border.Instead,under the protection of the Mu s family,he lived a scholar s life in Anning.It was one of the reasons that he had a large number of writings.According to some related documents,the article reveals the intimate relationship between Yang Shen and the Mu s family and why he could not return home in his whole life.
