A Comparative Study of Western Mainstream Media Reportage on Wenchuan Earthquake

通过定量研究的方式,以美国《华盛顿邮报》、《纽约时报》和英国《泰晤士报》、《卫报》四家西方主流媒体有关我国5.12汶川特大地震报道作为研究样本,分别从报道主体、报道视角、报道体裁及报道态度方面进行定性对比分析研究。

Through quantitative research methods,this paper makes a comparative and qualitive analysis and study of the subjects,angles,genres and attitudes in the Western mainstream media s reporting on the ＂5.12＂ Wenchuan Earthquake in China by taking four main west media of Washington Post and New York Times in USA,Times and Guardian in Britain as the research specimen.
