In The Joy Luck Club, Amy Tan told the story of the four Chinese mothers who were Chinese immigrants to the United States and their four American-born daughters. One of the hardships the immigrants suffered as they assimilated into American culture was the conflicts between mothers and daughters which were caused by their generation gap and growing background. However, the complicated love between them impressed me a lot.
