Study on MAO Ze-dong's Thoughts of Agricultural Fundamental Status and its Contemporary Value

新中国成立后,毛泽东充分论证了农业发展对国家经济、政治、国防发展的重要作用,提出了"农业是国民经济的基础"的思想,这个思想对于当前我国农业发展仍有着重要的现实意义。农业在国民经济中的功能决定了农业始终是我国国民经济的基础。但是,我们对农业的重视不能仅仅停留在农业对国民经济贡献的认识上,更不能继续采取对农业进行索取的做法,而应把农业放在整个国民经济协调发展的全局和世界视野的高度上。

After the founding of new China, Mao Ze-dong fully demonstrated that agricultural development played an important role in the development of a country＇s economy, politics and national defense. He advocated that agriculture was the foundation of the national economy,which still has the significance for China today. The function of agriculture determines that agriculture has always been the basis of national economy. However, our emphasis on agriculture cannot merely depend on the contribution of agriculture to national economy, nor can our emphasis continue to request from agriculture. Instead, agriculture should be placed on the coordinated development of the whole national economy in the overall VISIOn.
