在明清小说批评史上,张竹坡上承金圣叹,下启脂砚斋,通过对八股文理论的借鉴与引用,对《金瓶梅》思想与艺术进行了评点。对《金瓶梅》的评点,使其成为明清小说批评艺术的集大成者,为《金瓶梅》的广泛传播,以及中国古典小说批评与鉴赏理论的最终形成作出了巨大贡献,对后世影响深远。

In the criticism history of Ming and Qing Dynasties novel,Zhang Zhupo who followed Jin Shengtan,and succeeded Zhi Yanzhai,made comments on the thought and art of ＂Jin Ping Mei＂ by borrowing and quoting the theory of eight-part essays.His comments made him become the greatest criticist of the Ming and Qing Dynasties novel.At the same time,he has made tremendous contribution to the wide spread of ＂Jin Ping Mei＂ as well as the criticism and the connoisseurship theory s final formation of Chinese classical novel,and has a deep effect on the later generation.
