本文从词源学的角度,对"西康"一词进行了严谨而细致的考证,并在阅读大量文献典籍的基础上,对西康的地域范围及近代发展沿革作了清晰的辨析。此外,本文还通过对西康、西藏学术史研究的回顾和比较,认为在西藏备受国内外学界关注的同时,作为连接西藏与内地桥梁的西康,却一向为学界所忽视。由于西康近代史研究具有重要的学术文化价值、社会经济意义和现实政治意义,进行西康近代社会史研究应是大有可为的。

This article conducts a strict and careful research into Xikang from the etymological point of view, and gives clear analysis to the geographical scope of Xikang and its development in modern history on the basis of reading large quantities of classics. In addition, the paper also makes a review and comparison on the academic history, after which it considers that Xikang, as a bridge linking Tibet with the inland, has always been neglected, while Tibet is focused more by scholars at home and abroad. The modern history research of Xikang has great cultural and academic Values, socio-economic significance and practical signitieance, so the future of this research must be promising.
