The global production capacity of vinyl acetate was 6480kt, with total consumption about 5150kt in 2008. It is forecasted that the global demand of vinyl acetate will reach about 5900kt in 2012. The production capacity of vinyl acetate in China was 1583kt, with total consumption about 1453kt in 2008. It is forecasted that the total consumption of vinyl acetate in China will reach about 2000kt in 2012. Till then, the production capacity will exceed the demand, so the market competitive will be more fierce.
