摘要
我国英语教学中存在着一种以简单事实的机械记忆为核心的非理性教学模式。"简单模式"模糊了英语和汉语本质的差异以及书面英语和即时英语功能和地位的差别,消解了英语教育者及英语教育本身所应肩负的社会责任和文化使命。英语文化的导入、文化差异的比较和疏导,最终超越"简单模式",实现教学从"识字课"向更加系统的英语文化课的跨越,有利于培养更多的全面发展的"人",对中华文化的复兴有着深远的意义。
There exists a" simplified" irrational mode of English teaching and learning in China, whose core is the mechanical memorizing of the "simple facts". The simplified mode disregards the essential differences between Chinese and English language, ignores the differences in function and status between oral and written English,and dispels the social responsibility and cultural mission the English instruction and instructors are expected to shoulder. The transcendence of the simplified mode from a illiteracy-eliminating course to a more systematic cultural course through the introduction, explanation, comparison and guidance of the comprehension of the English culture carries significance to both the China's modernization as well as the development of Chinese people.
